Aggressive Alzheimer’s disease genetic marker identified

An international team of Alzheimer’s disease experts, led by the School of Medicine, has uncovered a gene variation that appears to predict the rate at which Alzheimer’s disease will progress. FULL STORY

More defibrillators on Danforth Campus

WUSTL installed automatic external defibrillators in seven high-traffic areas across the Danforth Campus Sept. 16. The computerized medical devices can monitor a heart rhythm and can recognize when a distressed person requires a shock to re-establish a normal rhythm. FULL STORY

Kevin Washburn, JD, professor and law dean at the University of New Mexico, will deliver a lecture, titled “Improving Criminal Justice for American Indians,” at noon Thursday, Sept. 23, for the Assembly Series.   • Tournament renamed in honor of Imergoot. The first annual Lynn Imergoot Invitational took place this past weekend, Sept. 17-19, at the Tao Tennis Center and Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park. The annual fall invitational was renamed in memory of former women’s tennis coach Lynn Imergoot, who died in a car accident July 24, 2009. She retired from coaching in 2005 and spent 37 years on the Danforth Campus.
